Les commentaires (en anglais) de Joe "Jonosuke" Kuroda de la Sumo Mailing List, à propos de cet évènement :
Date: Tue, 21 Oct 2003 19:59:58 -0400 (EDT)
Yokozuna Asashoryu injured his left side while working
out with other sekitoris at Kamogata-cho in Okayama
Prefecture, one of the Aki Basho Jungyo tour stop, on
October 19.
Asashoryu is continuing with the rest of tour rather
than going back to Tokyo to receive a further
treatment. He won't be participating in the
Jyungyou bouts but will perform the dohyo-iri with his
side bandaged as he has done on October 20.
"He may get more examination but I understand it was
not that serious," Takasago oyakata indicated as
Asashoryu is again not making any comment to
reporters.
"Apparently he is experiencing some pain but
he said there was nothing broken. We are hoping he
still can join in the Jungyo matches once he recovers
sufficiently but meanwhile we asked him to continue
performing the yokozuna dohyo-iri," said
Musashigawa oyakata, director of the Jyungyo Tour.
