"The Kyokai completed its Natsu Jyungyo schedule at Sapporo City on August 19. The Most Outstanding Rikishi Award for the Jyungyo was given to Tochinonada and Takamisakari. The award is given to the rikishi
judged to have trained the most and with dedication during the Jyungyo rounds. Futagoyama oyakata who has been responsible for this Jyungyo operations also rated Tochiazuma very highly.
"Frankly he should have been the rightful recipient fir this but he always seems to be winning it so this time around, we got him to decline. Personally speaking I think he already has everything to be promoted to ozeki," the oyakata added. Both Kaio and Miyabiyama participated on the Jyungyo event every day and were working out hard to prepare for the September Basho."
