Wow, seems we found a new Katayama in Tanemaru's shape. Wondrous shiko ! (though, being in jonidan and never having be higher than lower sandanme, it's unlikely we can see him anytime soon...)

Pictures of the bouts are spectacular and enable us to see precisely the techniques used. Wonderful.

Made a big tour this morning together with a japanese painter. It took us to Kitanoumi Beya - too late, but Sugita let us in to watch the last minutes and to get a pic for his blog together with Kitakenmu and Tsubaseumi. So we walked on to Shikoroyama beya, the first time for me, that I went to former Terao's stable. The training was nearly as intense as it was at Takanohana Beya, after the usual training, you see in every heya, a long session of sumo basic movements and stretching. Then just a look into Oguruma stable, Takekaze was still sitting and relaxing and in a very good mood, a little chat with him and Hoshikaze and that's it:

Good day for me concerning the lower divisions.

My adoptee Hokazan is still showing his best sumo, Kotowatanabe going to climb up the banzuke again, Kotokashiwadani is 3-3 and was smiling all the time - one more win and you can even smile more . My Onomatsu adoptee Fujimoto is also 3-3 and still has a chance for KK.

This morning I went to morning practise at Kokonoe. Ozeki Chiyotaikai showed up for 3 minutes just to get a little massage by Chiyonoretsu and Chiyohakuryu. So he couldn't take my attention away from Chiyoarashi . Chiyohakuho only said Hello and started singing "Time to say goodbye" the refrain for minutes

Training ended with a matawari lesson for the shin deshi.

So see here the pics of

Day 12 and close ups from Day 11:

Went to Miyagino Beya as my adoptee Hokazan said that there will be morning practise. When I got there, only Hokazan and I were there. After 10 minutes followed the Yokozuna ... the Yokozuna, Hokazan and me ... Some stretching and Shiko were done, then poor Hokazan was smashed at the wall for a couple of times - time to become stronger.

In the meantime about 10 journalists had arrived and after keiko I thought I'd better go my way. But Hokazan called me and asked me to come back again. It followed the most strange interview I've ever seen and heard in my life. The first minutes silence, nobody asked a question, Hakuho was sitting there among the journalists who seemed to be awestrucked and waited. Finally a brave one asked his first question. Hakuho was as monosyllabic as in his Yusho interviews. Pause - another question - very short answer - pause ... (condition, today's bout, Asashoryu ...) couldn't avoid grinning a bit. After 15 minutes or so it became a bit more relaxed. Time enough for me to make some pics - sometimes the only sound you could hear at all.

But it was worth waiting, when I went out and said bye, Hokazan had an original Hakuho Tegata for me :-O (Blushing...) (Clapping wildly...)

Good to have Asashoryu back :P :P

And after years of waiting for Aozora to show his abilities, he finally could decide the Sandanme Yusho for himself. :P :P

So here are the last pics of Senshuraku:
